Love Forever

LOVE FOREVER – Romans 5:1-11

God gave us the gift of love. And His standard of love is non-negotiable

Some people who want love now make the mistake of trading an eternal love for a temporary love.

Romans 5:1-11 - This type of love is a gift from God, delivered through the Holy Spirit, by faith in Jesus Christ.

  • These verses are not talking about romantic love but a specific love

  • This type of love is eternal and unconditional

  • Some people want to be in love so much they are willing to love the wrong person.

    (1 Thessalonians 4:3,4)

Relationships that will take your eyes off of God or drag you away from God’s plan. For a lot of us, it’s the only relationships we have ever had.

    Broken Relationships

Relational wounds that are caused by sinful decisions

  • Relationships we were not prepared for

  • Being impatient and wanting something now

  • Loving people who do not know how to love

  • People who do not honor God

  • Wounds that leave you with hatred, insecurity, and bitterness.

    Bad Relationships

Bad relationships raise the risk of

  • Dishonoring God

  • Impurity

  • Broken relationships

  • Botched Relationships

A relationship that could’ve been pure but crossed spiritual boundaries.
It has the possibility of someone walking away from ministry or God’s plan because of guilt.

t can lead you down a path you never intended to be on.

The one thing that ties these all these relationships together is putting another person in God’s place.

God helps us to understand unconditional love by teaching us how to love instead of teaching us who to love.

    3 types of love

  • Brotherly Love

  • Romantic Love

  • Unconditional Love

  • Ephesians 5:22-25

  • Avoiding kryptonite relationships requires you to understand what Jesus did for you.

  • The love that Jesus showed by dying on the cross is the same love that is required to love a spouse.

  • God wants you to love His way, because our way leads us to broken and bad relationships.

  • Don’t trade an unbreakable love for a love that can break you.
